The day after his 64th wedding anniversary, Luis Velasco, passed away peacefully at 91, after a long bout with cancer. He was surrounded by his wife (Margarita), two sons (Gabriel and Javier), and daughter in law (Minerva). He is also survived by his grandchildren (Sophia, Zachary, Gavin and Jacob), as well as their spouses and children.
Above all, Luis was a provider and caregiver. All his thoughts (when not about soccer, bullfighting or Susan Hayward) were about how he could help his family (and their families), his friends (and their families), his workmates (and their families) and assorted Aussies, Theatre Types, and strays his kids brought home.
His passions were the house that he built with his own hands (where he passed) and the love of his life, Margarita. The family would like to thank everyone for their support in these past months and the days that will come. He touched many lives and will continue to do so by the example set for us all. In lieu of flowers or cards or donations to specific charities, we encourage everyone to actively make a difference in the lives of those you love. As Luis did.
A celebration of life for Luis will be held Monday, March 6, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Glen Abbey Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.glenabbeysandiego.net for the Velasco family.
