Biography
(Louie)
Luis (Louie) Padilla was born to Luis Hector Padilla, and Irene (Chavez) Padilla on November 7. 1960 at The U.S. Naval Hospital In San Diego, California, where his father was serving as a Petty Officer in the United States Navy. Shortly later Louie was joined by a Brother Francisco Javier, and a Sister Henrietta Yvonne. At the age of 8 years old his family followed Chief Petty Officer Padilla to Yokosuka, Japan where they lived for about 18 months.
As he grew up Louie developed a strong sense of competiveness and as a young child participated in both Pop Warner Football and Little League Baseball. In his adult life this desire to compete led him to be a Champion Dart Player, and an avid Golfer. The more challenging the golf course, the better he liked it, and the harder he tried to beat it.
Louie was a graduate of Grossmont HS 1978, and immediately after graduation went to work at Pathway Bellows in El Cajon where he very quickly became a highly skilled metallic bellows former.
When this company closed in 1985 he went to work for Sim J. Harris, a construction company and quickly became a supervisor of paving projects. This eventually took him to work for Simon Wong Engineering/ Klienfelder Architectural Engineering Company where he was involved in several major road construction projects in San Diego County.
If you have driven on California Highway 52 from Santee to El Cajon, CA Route 125 interchange at Highway 94 or California 76 you are on projects that he was most involved in and most proud of.
