Nanay was born on April 10, 1933, in Iloilo, Philippines, to Teofilo Adle and Pacita Cañonaso. She was one of seven siblings, sharing cherished memories with her four brothers and two sisters. In 1960, she married Apolinario Sorianosos, a World War II US Army veteran, and together they built a life until his passing in 2007. Settling in San Diego during the seventies, Nanay embraced the city as her permanent home, establishing strong roots for her growing family.
Her life's joy emanated from caring for her loved ones, a role she cherished deeply. As her children matured into adulthood, Nanay enjoyed spending time with friends, indulging in excursions with the Samahan Senior Citizens Group, including memorable trips to Las Vegas, the shopping malls and local casinos. She found solace in gardening, delighted in cooking traditional Filipino meals, dining out at Asian buffets, and found comfort at home watching Filipino soap operas on The Filipino Channel. She enjoyed many years spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Nanay's unwavering faith was evident in her nightly prayers and weekly attendance at St. Charles Catholic Church with her family.
Nanay is preceded in death by her daughter, Annie, and is survived by her children Eddie, Luisa, Marybonn, Joserusk, Mary Ann, Johnson, Jack, Philip, Erma, Edna, John, James, and Job, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Nanay, may your gentle soul find eternal peace in the loving embrace of the divine.
