Leonardo Doria Abreu was born 3.14.46 to Eugenio and Eulalia Abreu in Dagupan City, Philippines. He was the eldest of 6 kids. Carlito, Ponchito, Perla, Mario, and Rene. He is also known as Nards to his friends and family. He passed due to a heart attack on June 26, 2022 at 3:08 pm at the age of 76. He married Cleofe Sansano Abreu on May 6, 1973 and worked primarily as an accountant both in the Philippines and in Papua New Guinea prior to moving to San Diego in 1982. He is survived by his 3 sons Eric, Ivan (spouse Jennifer), and Leonard (spouse Jacqueline) along with his 5 grandchildren Brendan, Nathan, Kaya, Olivia, and Owen. He purchased a 7-Eleven franchise in 1988 and was able to provide an abundant life for his family whom he cared deeply about. He sold the store in 2021.
He was an extremely hard worker. He would spend days and nights at the store just so that he could save on payroll and make more for his family. He would work 7 days a week sometimes.
He truly lived an incredible life traveling the world. In fact, he had a goal of seeing the 7 wonders of the world. He did get to see his sixth wonder in 2021 when he got to visit Chichen Itza. Due to the pandemic and travel restrictions he was not able to see the 7th one on his list, Petra, Jordan. He’s been to many other places around the world including Japan, China, Greece, South America, Africa, Mexico, Egypt, and many more.
In his free time he enjoyed watching sports, particularly tennis and golf. He also loved to play golf with his friends any chance he got. He loved to talk politics, sports, and business. He was always up to date with today's current affairs and you could always count on a great conversation when he was around.
Spending time with his grandkids was also one of his biggest joys in life. Seeing all 5 of them together always put the biggest smiles on his face. He truly was a great man. A father. A grandfather. A husband. A brother. A friend. He will be missed but never forgotten. Rest in Peace.
