He is survived by his wife, Milagros Sy Quito, his daughters Milady Quito, Helene Jolly & Carolyn Quito, his sons-in-law Dr. Desmond Anthony Jolly & Christofer Drake, his grandsons Derek Moana Jolly & Cruz Quito Drake, brother Jose Quito and sister Virginia Quito.
Laddy was born April 2, 1942 in Masinloc, Zambales, Philippines to Justino Quito & Adoracion Ednalaguim. He briefly attended the University of the East in Manila before joining the U.S. Navy in 1967. He proudly served for more than 23 years and 14 years with the Department of Defense. Laddy retired in 2004.
He married the love of his life, Mila Quito, on April 30, 1972 in Manila and had three daughters. While in the Navy, Laddy and his family lived throughout the Asia-Pacific region in the Philippines, Japan and Hawaii. The family settled in San Diego in 1981.
Proud of his Zambales roots, Laddy was a founding member of the Masinloc Association of San Diego County, Inc, serving in various positions including the Association President for two terms. Laddy valued his familial relationships, often driving up and down the California coast to visit friends and family in Long Beach, Oxnard and Vallejo. He was also an avid fisherman, bowler (league champ!) and karaoke singer. His greatest joy above all was being a grandfather to his two grandsons, whom he adored.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Church of the Most Precious Blood at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Glen Abbey Memorial Park. The family will greet friends from 5:00 to 9:00 pm on Thursday, August 15, 2013 and Friday, August 16, 2013 at Glen Abbey Mortuary in Bonita, California.
