Laarnie "Lani" Gonzales

Laarnie "Lani" Gonzales, 61, passed away peacefully with the presence of family and in her childhood home on on Tuesday, January 30, 2024. She was born January 11, 1963, in Chula Vista, California, to her father Santiago and mother Merecedita. Lani was a beloved Grandmother, Mother and Daughter.

Lani attended Bonita High School and cherished her time there, forming lasting memories and friendships. In 1993, she would move to Geneva, Illinois with her family and spend over two decades in the Grocer's Union. Lani's fun-loving, bubbly personality easily made her everyone's favorite coworker, friend, and butcher. She had a happy and proud disposition, always ready to share a laugh with those around her. In her spare time, Lani loved to shop, sew, cook, hike, chase sunsets, and spend time at the beach. In 2019, Lani's deep love and commitment to family brought her back to Chula Vista to help care for her parents. From San Diego to Chicago and back, Lani's energy left positive impressions wherever life took her.

Lani is survived by her loving father Sanitago, children Kyle, Nathan, and Amaehia, 3 grandchildren, as well as her siblings Dan and David. She was preceded in death by her mother Merecedita.

The funeral service for Lani Gonzales will be held at Glen Abbey Memorial Park & Mortuary, located at 3838 Bonita Rd, Bonita, CA 91902.
