Kevin Foster Rudden (46) passed away unexpectedly on April 18th, 2023 in Chula Vista, California, surrounded by family and loved ones. He was born in Denver, Colorado on November 14, 1976 to Peggy and Daniel Rudden, the fourth of seven children. Kevin spent his adolescent years in Colorado where he attended Most Precious Blood Catholic School, West Middle School and Cherry Creek High School. Throughout his youth he was an incredible athlete, a great defender of the underdog, and everyone’s favorite “little” brother. Kevin went on to play Division 1 baseball at the University of Illinois. After graduating, he moved to San Diego, California where he met his true love and his wife, Rachel.
Kevin and Rachel set deep roots in Chula Vista, California where they created a beautiful life for their four boys. Kevin was a brother, a beloved baseball coach, a mentor and a friend. However, the role he took most pride in was being a father. He was humble and sought joy in the simple things like playing outside with his kids, coaching baseball, helping with homework, and running a business with his youngest brother, Tommy.
Kevin was imperfectly perfect. He was determined and was a man of action. His methods weren't always the most conventional, but that is, in part, what made him so special. He embraced who he was and lived in a way that embodies what we should all strive to be. He was a loyal, hard working, family man who loved hard, supported the underdog, and was willing to stand by those he loved unconditionally in an unwavering manner. His sole focus in life was trying to help those he loved be the best and happiest they could be.
Kevin is survived by his wife Rachel, and their children Brian 18, Dominic 17, Abel 13 and Caleb (aka Tiny) 11. He is also survived by his parents Marjorie Rudden and Daniel Rudden; his siblings Tammy Rudden (Blair Hanneman), Barney Rudden, former sister law Meredith Rudden, Casey Whitney (Scott), Nick Rudden (Megan G), Tommy Rudden (Megan H); his brother-in-law Humberto Martinez, his nieces and nephews and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by, his in laws Jesus Humberto Martinez (2003) and Martha Ham Martinez (2022), his brother Brian (1980) and his niece Gabby (2004).
The celebrations of Kevin’s life will take place in Chula Vista, CA and Denver, CO.
