Jovencio Adlao Festejo peacefully passed away on April 8th, with his beloved wife of 61 years by his side. A man of integrity, deep dedication and unwavering love for his family, Jovencio lived a life defined by service, devotion, and the simple pleasures of life.
Jovencio was born on June 1, 1933 in Caloocan City, Metro Manila, Philippines, where he spent his childhood and formative years. He joined the United States Navy at a young age and served honorably for over 20 years. He continuing his commitment to public service at San Diego Gas and Electric, where he worked for 20 years until his retirement. His humility, integrity, and strong work ethic left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Jovencio found great joy in the peaceful rhythm of early morning fishing—relishing the quiet moments by the water and the calm start to each day. He also enjoyed the warmth and laughter of large family gatherings—moments he treasured deeply and where his presence was always a source of comfort and joy.
Above all, Jovencio was a devoted husband, loving uncle, supportive Godfather, compassionate foster parent and loyal friend. His caring, gentle nature, and quiet wisdom will be remembered and cherished always.
He will be deeply missed, but the legacy he leaves behind—in love, service, and a life well-lived—will continue to inspire.
