Jose was born on September 8th, 1950 to Petra Grimaldo Olivares and Jose Concepcion Olivares in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. He began his career as a soldier in the Mexican Army Reserves before marrying Ramona Galvez Olivares, having three children, moving to San Diego, California, and working as an on-site property manager for John Cheney Apartments until his retirement at 71.
Jose was a man of Faith. He was an honorable brother, a devoted father, and a beloved grandfather. His passion for nature and photography were a staple of his personality. Jose could often be found in his personal study, listening to classic oldies while perusing the many old photo albums he gathered over the years. Best known for his reserved demeanor, unwavering work ethic, and overall well-groomed appearance, Jose has made a lasting impression on every member of his family, and his legacy will live on every day by those who remain to honor him.
Jose is preceded in death by his Mother, Petra G. Olivares, his Father, Jose C. Olivares.
Jose was survived by his wife, Ramona Olivares, his three children, Jose A. Olivares, Kathya Olivares, and Johel Olivares, his sisters, Maria de Jesus Estrada, Imelda Gallardo, Flavia Sandoval, Connie Dailey, and his many grandchildren, JR Olivares, Citlali Olivares, Devin McCovy, Xiomara Olivares, Xochitl Olivares, Derius McCovy, Jose J. Olivares, and Ximena Olivares.
