James Author Marsh was a very loving and kind husband and father. James was always willing to lend a helping hand to whomever needed it, and he always did his best to make everyone feel warm and welcome by just saying hello to anyone that passed his way. James was an overall people person who never failed to show his zest for life, and those that knew him always felt this. James will best be remembered for his warm smile, friendly ways, and loving heart.
James author Marsh was born on June 23rd, 1933 in Washington, North Carolina to Lucy Dixon and William Henry Marsh. He was the 8th child of nine children.

In 1957 James brought his new family to the U.S. where they lived in Washington, NC for 18 months. Within that same year James was transferred by the Navy to San Diego, CA where he was stationed at the 32nd street Naval Base, followed by the North Island Base in Coronado, and lastly he was stationed at the U.S. Amphibious Base also in Coronado. Also, I would like to add that while serving in the Navy James served aboard the U.S.S. Midway, Kitty Hawk, The Hornet, and many other U.S. Naval aircraft carriers, and he was given the opportunity to travel many countries such as the Philippines, Japan, Australia, and many more. After James retired from the Navy in 1975 he worked for civil service for 20 years and retired in 1995. Furthermore, I would like to add that James attended Southwestern College from 1975 to 1979 and earned an associates degree in real estate.
James lived in San Diego for 58 years until his passing on June 17, 2014. He is survived by his spouse Mercedes S. Marsh, his 3 children Tyrone S. Marsh, Jeffrey S. Marsh, and Michell S. James will best be remembered as being a people person who’s zest for life was shown to everyone who knew him, not a day went by where he didn’t greet someone who passed his way, his favorite words were hello Mr. or Mrs. so & so, how are you doing? James never failed to show his loving and supportive ways to his wife, children, and all the people that knew him.
James will be dearly missed by all his family and friends. Rest in peace James for your suffering is no more, you will never be forgotten and you will always be loved.
