San Diego, CA-
Felipe Cardenas was a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, second great grandfather and husband. Felipe was born July 18th, 1926 in Guadalajara, Mexico. He died peacefully in San Diego, California on Saturday, January 15th, 2022 at 95 years of age. Felipe married his lovely wife Florencia in 1943 in Guadalajara Mex, and they raised fifteen wonderful children. He and Florencia were married for 60 years. He was a loyal and loving husband and father.
Felipe also excelled in his wide range of talents. One of his many talents was his music, singing, and playing guitar which brought unity and joy to everyone. He was a very talented musician who instilled music in his own children and grandchildren. Aside from music, he was a skilled artisan, producing show-quality knives and swords in his own foundry. He was extremely creative and always finding ways to improve his craft.
Felipe also had hands that healed others. He always believed in the power of the mind over the ills of the body. He performed a wide range of massaging and therapy techniques. Family, friends, and neighbors would come to him for physical and often mental healing.
In his youth, Felipe was very athletic and enjoyed participating in sports such as soccer and swimming. He encouraged his interests in his children who all excelled in athletics.
Nonetheless, his passion was always his children. As a father, he is remembered for his constant patience and dedication. He loved telling jokes and folktales to his kids that would be passed on for generations. Even in times of duress, he and Florencia maintained a positive outlook and always relied on the Lord for guidance. He will be remembered dearly.
Felipe is preceded by his wife Florencia and oldest son David. He is survived by his fourteen children: (Lorena, Yolanda, Guillermo, Aurora, Alicia, Florencia, Ruben, Raul, Ramón, Irene, Felipe, Luis, Isabel and Gloria) grandchildren, great grandchildren and second great grandchildren.
