On this one year anniversary of Evelyn's passing, I am thankful for the years I spent knowing both Evelyn and Karl; our beautiful trip to Alaska together with them and my wife celebrating their 30th anniversary; all the tines spent at their home; and such wonderful  care Evelyn  demonstrated for Karl and her dogs, and jokingly, not necessarily in that order! My dear, sweet mother-in-law, my loving and lovely supportive mom on earth as my mom was already in heaven, my beacon of trust, hope, and joy. I miss you. I miss you I miss you. Every day, just as I miss my own mom every day. Thank you for all of your help, love, support, celebration of life, happiness, spirituality, unconditional, positive regard, and for just being the sweetest lady, I am taking the best care of your son that I can. On this day, Evelyn and Karl united in marriage. You can see how happy they look. All the kids were there, looking very nice, and I’m sure happy for their mom. This is a lovely picture because it again is a celebration of love, support, and happiness. ❤️

On this day, Evelyn and Karl were right there to support and celebrate my husband, Troy’s graduation with a doctorate in psychology. Troy worked very hard to make his mom proud. There was such love and support and celebration that day, we will never forget it. ❤️

This gorgeous picture was taken at Evelyn and Karl’s home with their lovely dog Tyler. They are so happy and in love, and look so content and at peace, while at the same time with loads of joy at being together with one another and Tyler. What a wonderful role models they were, and are. Evelyn was the most gentle and amazing and incredible mother-in-law and I am so grateful for her love and support. I truly loved her back. 🌹

Evelyn & I met years ago when we both lived in the same apartment complex in Redondo Beach, Calif.  We hit it off right away & instantly became close friends. I was her maid of honor & I so enjoyed that. We had 
many fun times  together & Evelyn I  will always hold you & those memories close to my heart. 

My beautiful, graceful, gentle and loving Mother in Law, Evelyn, has been a source of light in our family’s lives for the past 25 years. From the beginning, she has been a beacon of light and compassion. Her unique approach to all of the children and grandchildren has been to love and support with abandon. We have been graced and blessed with having her in our lives. We all have embraced her example  and will always remember her and be grateful for her. Thank you my dear Mom, and thank you for the relationship we have shared. Peace be with you, we all love you, 

We are fellow dog lovers and neighbors of Evelyn. We enjoyed our talks, sharing tips and trades people to do repairs in our homes.  She gave us great tips for our little scared rescue dog, Rusty, when we first adopted  him in 2013.  More recently we shared socializing with other women in the neighborhood.  I will miss Evelyn and our impromptu chats.  Our heart felt condolence s to all her family.  Debbie and Charlie

I met Evelyn in 1976 when I started working for the Social Security Administration in Inglewood, Ca.  She was so sweet and kind, and had the most beautiful voice I had ever heard.  After she and my buddy Karl started dating, I was so happy that two of my favorite people met and fell in love.   Evelyn is the kind of person that when you think about her you immediately smile.  Such a gentle soul.  My deepest condolences to the family.  I include a pic of Karl and Evelyn circa 1979(?) in Redondo Beach.

I will always remember Evelyn for her beautiful smile, her devotion to her dogs, and her delicious Christmas cookies!  Our world is a little bit darker today without her in it.  I wish her family and loved ones Peace.

It’s so shocking Aunt Evelyn isn’t in this world any longer. She has been a shining star in my life because she was one of the first people  that showed me my world could be safe and have beauty in it. She showed me unconditional love and acceptance when I didn’t feel loved or accepted. One of my best childhood memories is Saturday matinee movies watching Disney films with Aunt Evelyn!  I will never forget her and how she taught me that love is beautiful and the world can be wonderful despite difficulties.  I love you, Aunt Evelyn.

I have so many wonderful memories of my dear sister that I can't choose just one. My earliest memory is when she started kindergarten one year ahead of me . I couldn't understand why she could go to school and I couldn't. I didn't think it mattered that I was only four years old.  After a few weeks into the school year, however,  I reaped the benefits as well as Evelyn.  She  taught me the alphabet and to count to 100.  Being only 13 months apart in age, many people thought we were twins while we were growing up.  We did everything together as young children. The memories come rushing in like a flood when the dam breaks.   Evelyn was not only my sister, but my best friend.  Even though we have lived miles apart as adults we've shared all aspects of our lives through visits,  cards, letters, and many hours, and I mean many, talking on the phone.  We shared our deepest secrets, all our ups and downs of life on those phone calls.  A two hour phone call was just a short chat to us.  To say good bye to the kindest,  dearest,  sister and friend is one of the most difficult things I've faced. 

I have known Evelyn since 1978.  I was best man at her wedding to Karl.  I saw Evelyn every year from about 1995-2020, for Karl's annual Super Bowl party, and of course at many other times through our lives.  Evelyn always made sure that Karl had the right food for his guests at his Super Bowl party!  I remember how happy Evelyn was to hold a surprise 50th birthday party for Karl! She did so many things for others. Karl, Evelyn, my wife Kathleen and I took a cruise to Alaska to commemorate Karl and Evelyn's 30th anniversary in 2009.  Evelyn so much loved nature.    I remember visiting all of their homes they lived in, and I even remember when Colleen lived with them in the 1970's and how Evelyn bragged pridefully what a beautiful teenager Colleen was.

If you are a dog lover, then you have so much good in you.  Evelyn was the consumate dog lover, and from her heart she catered to her beloved Shelties. 

I also recall Evelyn talking to me about her children--I may not have every detail correct, but she was so proud of Colleen raising dogs and possibly other animals; Troy or Tim working as a psychologist; and Troy or Tim being an IT genius for school districts.  She had a beautiful smile of pride during those talks.

When Karl and Evelyn were en route to their wedding ceremony, I was in the vehicle with them.  Evelyn had a run in her stocking.  We stopped at a store, and she proved then how much she knew Karl--she told me to go and get her the new stocking with the right color, etc--she did not trust Karl to know one stocking from another!

Evelyn was always there for Karl, just as Karl has been for Evelyn, especially these last difficult months of fractures and falls.  Evelyn was the glue of that relationship, and Karl may have joked about Evelyn's idiosyncrasies, but he also told me so many times how much he loved her.

I have added a photo of a fond memory of Evelyn with us on her Alaskan cruise.  I will miss her dearly.
