Elmer "Bud" Trevillyan, WWII Veteran of National City, CA, passed away in his home on May 3rd 2019 at the age of 101. Proceeded in death by his wife, Edna. Bud was born in Vale, South Dakota on February 25th 1918 where he grew up farming and shepherding on his family's 200 acre ranch.
In 1940, Bud moved to San Diego and worked for Solar Aircraft Company. In 1943, Bud was drafted into the military. He served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Lowndres (APA-154) as a deep-sea welder. He witnessed the flag raising on the island of Iwo Jima.
When Bud was discharged from the military in March of 1946, he returned to San Diego. He worked for the Railroad Express Agency, retiring in 1975. During this time, Bud met Edna, the love of his life. They were married for 55 years.
Bud and Edna gave generously to many charities throughout the years, one being the San Diego Zoo's Polar Bear exhibit. Bud enjoyed golfing, finshin, watching baseball and growthing beautiful flowers. He enjoyed spending time with afmily and friends.
Bud is survived by his Goddaughter, Melroy Kloppenborg, her husband Paul and son Brian, of La Mesa, CA.
