Mrs. Elizabeth "Beth" Pauline Saldaña

Beth was born Elizabeth Pauline Baker on July 22, 1958 in Lafayette, IN to Max Eugene and Lillie Esther (Mullen) Baker. After moving around several times during her childhood, Beth’s family settled in Imperial Beach, CA in the 1960s. She graduated from Mar Vista High School in 1977. On July 27, 1978, Beth married Jesus “Jesse” Saldana. The couple went on to have four beautiful children - Rachel, Jesse, Judith, and Rose.

Beth was an active community member and liked to make sure her voice was heard, having run for both SBUSD School Board and Imperial Beach City Council. She was also a passionate leader for her union, California School Employees Association. She was a loving grandmother who got so much joy from taking care of her grandchildren after her retirement from Sweetwater Union School District in 2018. Most importantly, she was a kind-hearted human who spent her days surrounded by people she loved and people who loved her dearly. She had a unique ability to make everyone around her feel like family.

A viewing will be held on October 15, 2020 at 5:00 pm at Glen Abbey Mortuary Chapel, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, California. Burial will be held in private.
