Daniel Adam Stacy was born March 20, 1973 at Balboa Hospital in San Diego, California. He spent most of his childhood in Chula Vista, minus four years in Naples, Italy. While in Naples, he traveled with his family extensively throughout Italy, Spain, Germany, Austria, England, Scotland, France and Greece. In school, he excelled in all subjects the same as he did in all sports. He loved animals, the ocean, body-boarding, camping, fishing, bowling, paint ball, swimming, water polo, soccer, baseball and softball, and he was the number one Padres and Charger’s fan.
Dan graduated from Castle Park High School, Chula Vista, in 1991. He then attended Southwestern College where in addition to his major fields of study in Small Business Management and Accounting, he also completed the auto body repair curricula. It was during this time when he rebuilt his first car, a 1985 Volkswagen Jetta, from the ground up. He loved to drive and he loved cars, and he always maintained his cars in perfect operating condition. Dan was equally enthusiastic about work and he excelled at every job he ever had, from real estate agent to accounts management and engineering. He was also an expert in world-wide shipping and imports and exports. Moreover, he was very much loved and respected by all his co-workers and management.
Dan had many friends. He loved and valued each of them, and looked forward to spending time with them. He was always available to help them when they needed it. The fact that his enduring friendships go back to elementary school is testament to the wonderful and caring person he was during his entire life.
The one thing Dan was most enthusiastic about in his entire life was being a father to his much beloved son Jacob. He was a perfect role model and participated fully in all aspects of Jacob’s life. He was the proudest father we’ve ever known and it’s unfortunate that he won’t be here to witness his son to grow up and become the fine young man that Dan always knew he would be.
Dan was the youngest of three children born to Bob and Mary Ann Stacy. Dan’s brother, Bob Jr. and sister, Mary Ann Jr., were much more than brother and sister. They were also best friends and confidants and without exception were always there and available to support each other in every way possible during both good and bad times. There was no better brothers-sister relationship on the planet.
Dan was one of the kindest, most beautiful souls you could ever meet. He would give you the shirt off his back or the hat off his head. He loved unconditionally and always looked for the good in others. Anyone would be proud to call him their friend.
We love you so much Dan and we will see you in Heaven someday.
