August 13, 1922 – October 20, 2014
Concordia Babaan Rojales of Coachella, CA passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Monday, October 20, 2014 at the age of 92. She is survived by her loving husband Cenon, sons Ricardo (Malou), Rodante (Myrna), Rogelio (Lita), Rustico (Abbigail), daughters Leticia, Lizabel (Bernd), brother Leocadio, sisters Emilia, Natividad, 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Ronaldo and daughter Lourdes.
Concordia was born on August 13, 1922 in Indang, Cavite, Philippines to Martin Babaan and Modesta Mojica. She emigrated from the Philippines to the United States in 1978. A caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, she loved gardening and most of all spending time with her family.
Inay as a good mother and homemaker: Her life revolves around taking care of her family: husband and eight children three shifts a day. She starts her daily routine cooking breakfast, waking up her children, feeding them, and ends her day tucking them in bed.
Inay also wished that her children received good education to fulfil their dreams. So she started to find ways to augment Ama's average income by making and selling different kinds of rice cakes. Inay got all of her children involved by either soliciting orders from their teacher-customers, delivering and selling in school campuses. She was industrious in so many ways, she harvested crops every other week in her small farm to earn extra to ensure there is always food on the table for her kids. Her small entrepreneur provided us a great deal for our education and other needs.
Until her golden years, she has always been a doting mother and grandmother, always mindful of her children and grandchildren. Her punchline is "Kumain ka na ba?" which is her own expression that she cares. Even on her last breath her concern is if her kids had eaten.
