Terry and I were happy to know Colin. Rest in peace. Loving thoughts to Liisa and Scott and his family.

Colin, my baby brother bounced into the world on January 22 weighing 10 and half pounds a playmate for me.       

Colin disliked school and reading  but most of all was wearing new clothes – something that changed in later life!     He refused to wear new trousers especially long ones and our mum had to repair them until she couldn’t do so anymore!          At my wedding he was sporting a Beatle jacket and haircut.

 

Colin loved football and cars.     We had many trips to the seaside with our parents even after Jim and I married.     Colin couldn’t drive until he was 17 in the UK so he bought a blue Robin Reliant car aged 16 (as seen in the English television programme Only Fools and Horses – Del Boy’s car) with 3 wheels that had no reverse on.     When overdue with my son Steven he very kindly took me to the hospital in the car (like riding on the floor) in the hope it would start things off for me.     It didn’t work but I certainly got shaken about.     He was Steven’s godfather.
Colin started work as a Youth in Training for BT and when working in Wimbledon would visit daily for his lunchtime sandwich of marmite/watercress and to play with his nephews.      At 17 Colin purchased a Ford Anglia and then he was driving a proper car.     Through the years he progressed to much smarter cars.
Colin and Lisa then moved abroad to many different countries and Colin worked around the world.     He was over in the UK for many of parents special celebrations that were held mainly at our house or in a hotel.     There were lots as our parents were married for over 74years and we just kept having parties.

 

Colin died too young but always in control of his own destiny.

Dear Liisa and the family
Life isn't a matter of milestones, but of moments. Colin will never leave our hearts and the very best memories like this moment in Helsinki, June 2021. In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years. 
We will deeply miss you Colin.  
Our warmest thoughts are with Liisa and the family.
