I met Alred a couple years ago and had a lot of mutual friends since we were the same age.  I also know some of his family members like his Uncle Junior and his cousin Joel who I knew since Jr. high.  I’m writing this for the second time because apparently I didn’t save and lost everything I wrote.  Its 5:16 am and I just attended his viewing yesterday.  It was sad seeing his mom there crying.  She’s such a loving soul and loved Alfred unconditionally.  She reminds me of my mom with me and it triggers memories of my mother who past away in 2021.  
     One thing is for sure, Alfred and I clicked and he we can relate to a lot of things.  He would take forever cutting my hair but I didn’t really mind because our convos were always full of laughter.  We would imitate his Uncle Junior with all his catch phrases along with the accent.  One time he was cutting my hair and I said, “can u fix the fade on the back?!”  He replied, “that I have a bukol and he cant fix what god gave me!”  We both started busting up.  Gonna miss our convos pare.  
     One time I had to drop something off to his house, but I  was arguing with his sister Kristine at the time.  It was nothing major and I can’t even recall why were arguing.  But as I pulled up, Alfred came out and told me, “I’m surprised you even came over because I’m about to whoop your ass!”  I was still in my car with the windows rolled down and I was like, “go ahead, if you can catch me!”  He started laughing as he called me “Jerk!” One of his favorite words.  We ended up chopping it up having one of our many long convos.  
    I know Alred isn't perfect and has a troubled past.  But in all honesty, he was trying to mend it and move forward.  Nobody is perfect and we all have our flaws.  I know that he was like a big pinoy grizzly bear when it came to protecting his family which i admired about him.  Rest in paradise brotha!  I’ll check up on your moms here and you check up on mines up there in heaven.  Till we meet again 🙏

Our paths didn’t cross often. Every time we did get together whether it was a haircut or just to show some artwork you were working with, it was nothing but good vibes.  I considered you as one of my mentors. There was always something I could learn from you. You kept me in check in making the right choice during my troubled past. You always gave good advice, even when it wasn’t needed, but I know it was all just out of love. As a fellow southpaw, You were the biggest inspiration to me as an artist. You taught me technique and always encouraged me to finish one piece of artwork. We shared similar interests and same views about life. And we’re genuinely a good person. It pains me the we lost another good one. I will do my best to abide by all the wisdom you taught and apply everything into my own life. And Thank You, Alfred. My deepest condolences to your family. Rest in Peace OG .

My condolences to the family. I am a former coworker to Alfred. He was always a kind-hearted cheerful soul. It's heartbreaking to see him gone so soon. I will miss those fist to mouth giggles.

Friend, I can't believe you are gone. It's way too soon. We still had more drunken noodle lunches and concerts to go to. Remember when we went to see Bone Thungs N Harmony and you were gas lighting me by telling me that Crazy Bone was looking directly at me? Yeah, I went home and followed him and stalked him for about a month after. Lol. We always had great laughs no matter how long it been since we seen each other. 

You are an amazing friend. Seriously. I never told you how much I appreciate you visiting me when I was in the hospital. You brought me Baguette Bros garlic shrimp with the fried egg and rice because you knew exactly what I liked. Thank you for being a good friend and keeping all that I was going through to yourself. I know you just told people at work to just pray for me. I'll  be forever grateful for you. 
Also, I definitely feel like I would have convinced you to join me for a song at karaoke. Such a beautiful voice. 

Such a kind person. I'll miss you Alfred.

We were one of the first families to move in to Fairway Oaks when Eastlake Greens was built. We had so much fun exploring the neighborhood at night (hehehe), building new friendships and memories. I was saddened to hear of your passing but know you are in a better place. My deepest condolences to the Porto Family. May your soul find eternal peace. Rest easy, Alfred!

Al was a great friend to me and I learned a lot from him. He showed me how be patient and compassionate and forgiving. I grew as person through my friendship with Al.

One of the best times I had with Al was cruising up LA to pick up a car. When we got there, the guy flaked and wasted our time. I was so angry. Al told me anger was not worth it and asked me to reframe my thinking about how blessed we were to just hang out, cruise, and listen good music on a beautiful day. After that we stopped and ate and I realized how graceful Al was in terms of letting go of anger, frustration, and blame. 

I wish I could have told him how much his wisdom made a difference in my life. 

Rest in peace brother.
