Albert was born on March 24, 1924 at Philippines in Manila. He was the son of John and Islana. Albert was raised in Baguio City. He was the middle sibling out of five sisters: Paula, Romana (Nan), Marie, Elizabeth (Bay), and Helen. His known best friends included his brother in-law Joe Bush and Army bestie Ben Delmar. All are now getting reacquainted together up in heaven.
On September 1, 1973 Albert married the love of his life, Gloria Arenas Espiritu, at the Holy Angels church in Daly City, California. This year would have been their 50th wedding anniversary. Together, they built a family full of love. They were blessed with a daughter Angeline and son AJ (and spouses) along with their grandchildren Cresilla, Dean, Daniel, and Charleigh.
Albert was an Army veteran who served from 1946 to 1966, stationed all over the world. He served in WWII, along with the Korean and Vietnam wars and retired with the rank of Sergeant First Class. After retiring from the Army, his primary occupation was in carpentry for 20+ years, at Civil Public Works. He finally retired for good in 1991 to spend quality time with his wife and young children.
His favorite hobbies included fishing, stamp/coin collecting, dancing, road trips, walking, drinking coffee and going to Disneyland! With retirement, he was able to travel a bit more including vacations to the Philippines, Hawaii, Las Vegas, Isleton CA, Secaucus NJ, and New York.
Albert was a man who was dedicated and devoted to his faith. He was a member at Most Precious Blood catholic church for over 40 years. During that time, he was highly involved in the church and even served in the Knights of Columbus.
Albert Duty passed away on March 4, 2023 in his sleep nice and warm in his own bed at home in Chula Vista, CA. of Natural causes due to age. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and many more loved ones. Services will be held at the Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. Albert will be laid to rest on March 24, 2023 in Glen Abbey Mortuary in Bonita, CA.
