She earned multiple Masters Degrees and was an educator. As a college professor she undoubtedly touched many lives and expanded horizons and minds in ways that are still yet to be recognized. She enjoyed serenity and peace and sunny walks and yoga were two of the ways she would center herself and experience the moment. She enjoyed gardening and beautifying the homes she lived in as well as providing a variety of scenes to be enjoyed by the any passers-by. She enjoyed reading as well, preferably, in spanish. Shopping was always an acceptable option and she enjoyed fashion and her finds along the way. Even if she got a new handbag yesterday, "We can still go look today", wouldn't have been a stretch. She enjoyed keeping up on the current goings on and enjoyed some good gossip.
Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Graciela Varela Moreno; her husband of thirty-five years, Walter Blankenship,Jr.; her daughters, Christina Blankenship-Overholt and her husband Thomas of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Sofia Blankenship and her boyfriend Grant Fry; and her brother, Ricardo Silverio Morales Varela.
The family will have a Celebration of Life at a later date to be determined to honor Ximena.
