Veona Hewett Tatum

She was a native of Brunswick County was born on June 16, 1933 to her late parents Brady Hewett and Annie McRoy Hewett.

Mrs. Tatum is preceded in death by her late husband, Charles Edwin Tatum and late sister Ruth H. Jones.

She was a member of Elah Baptist Church and was a long time member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Veona enjoyed a variety of DIY crafts, tending to her plants, and spending time with friends and family.

Surviving are a niece, Carol J. Florkiewicz; a nephew, Raymond Jones, Sr.; a great niece, Ariel Pizzullo and her husband Daniel, all of Southport, NC; and a special close friend, Christine Mills of Wilmington, NC

Funeral Services will be at 11 AM Tuesday February 28, 2023 at Elah Baptist Church in Leland, NC by Reverend Kenneth Long officiating. Burial will follow at Silent Grove Cemetery in Supply, NC.

A time of visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Monday February 27, 2023 at White Funeral and Cremation Service at 603 Ocean Highway East Bolivia, NC.

Pallbearers will be Deacons of Elah Baptist Church; Mack Odham, Murray Mintz, JB Sholar, Kevin Adams, Dennis Cooley, John Cook, Danny Gardner.
