Susan Stroud

She was born August 16th, 1966 in Charlotte, NC. Susan graduated from Garinger High School in 1984 and went to work for Jim and Pattie Barnett as a PM and Estimator for a restoration company for 16 years. During this time, she went to work for Kemper Insurance Company and obtained her property adjuster license. In 2000, she joined United Claims Service as an Independent Adjuster. In 2015, Susan joined Spangler Restoration. She loved working and enjoyed being involved with insurance and claims handling. She was a member of Crossroads Church in Concord, NC and loved working in the nursery at church. In 2020, Susan and her husband John Stroud moved to Sunset Harbor, NC to fulfill their dream of living at the beach. She loved to read, cook, dance, and go to concerts with her friends. She thrived at the beach as she loved the sea and to watch the sun rise and set over the water. Susan was the most wonderful wife, mother, and friend with a beautiful and fighting spirit.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Rev. Charles M. Triplette and Treva Triplette, maternal grandparents Roy and Cara Huffman, mother Joyce H. Triplette, father Charles M. Triplette Jr., and niece Leah Marie VanSutphen. She is survived by her husband John T. Stroud, daughter Niki Stroud, sister Pamela Triplette, sister-in-law Amanda Sherrill, niece and nephew Indyca Summer Meadows and Devin Meadows, and niece Stevie Goodnight. She is survived by many cousins as well as her Aunt Beverly and Aunt Wanda.

Services will be held by McEwen Funeral Service in Mint Hill, NC on Sunday, July 11th at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Levine Cancer Institute, American Stroke Association, or Hospice.
