Born in Beckley, WV on July 28, 1958, he was a son to Henry Odell Shumate of Ash, NC and the late Ruby Pugh Shumate. Ron was a retired Mig and Tig welder. His hobbies included fishing, riding his Harley motorcycle and gardening.
He was a very loving father to his daughters, April Christine Shumate, Alyssa Nicole Shumate and dear friend to their mother Pamela Shumate.
