Myrtle L. Strickland

Mrs. Strickland was born in Brunswick County on December 14, 1936 and was daughter of the late Willie Clarence Clemmons and Ruby Hazel Milliken Clemmons. She was a computer operator with DuPont for twelve years and later owned and operated various businesses of her own prior to her retirement. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Babson. She was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, James Strickland, of the home; sons, Tim Strickland and wife, Lisa, of Ash and Mark Strickland and wife, Sandy, of Supply; granddaughter, Tiffanie Strickland, of Ash; special cousins, Gayla Varnam and Lonnie Varnam, of Supply.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 12, 2023 at eleven o’clock in the morning at the White Funeral and Cremation Service Chapel in Bolivia with Rev. Jesse Mooney and Rev. Lonnie Varnam officiating. Burial will follow in the Mintz Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be David Babson, Zack Babson, John Milligan, Daniel Hewett, Donnie Jones and Floyd Simmons.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service and other times at the residence.
