She was born in the Mill Creek Community of Brunswick County on the eighteenth of December, 1928 to the late Daniel Arrell and Ruth Simmons Caison. Mrs. Holden was a devoted wife and mother, she also made time for Sharon United Methodist Church of which she was a longtime member. She retired from the Brunswick County Schools and was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Brunswick #341. Her husband Quinton Roy Holden who preceded her in death in January of 2000 and a brother Daniel Glenn Caison.
Surviving are two sons, Quinton Arrell Holden and wife Barbara, of Winnabow, NC, Kevin Holden and wife Didi of Supply, NC; a daughter, Bonita Holden Barnhill and husband Charles of Loris, SC; a sister, Patsy Robinson of Supply; three grandchildren, Shannon Barnhill Argabrite, Garrett Holden, Daniel Barnhill; two great grandchildren, Jacob Carter and Lila Argabrite.
Funeral services will be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Friday, the sixth of January, 2017 in Sharon United Methodist Church The Reverend Eddie Hill and The Reverend V.C. Potter, Jr officiating. An interment service will follow in the Sharon UMC Cemetery.
You are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o’clock in the afternoon until eight o’clock in the evening on Thursday, the fifth of January, 2017 in the Sharon UMC and from other times from her home at 1739 H&H Road, Supply, NC.
Casket bearers will be Kevin Holden, Garrett Holden, Daniel Barnhill, Lindsey Walton, Robert Robinson and Michael Caison.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that monetary donations be made to the Sharon United Methodist Church “Kitchen Fund” at 2030 Holden Beach Rd SW, Supply, NC 28462 or to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice “Brunswick House” at 955 Mercy Lane, Bolivia, NC 28422.
