He was born in Robeson County on November 24, 1956 the son of the late, John Carl Tyner, Sr. and Emogene Townsend Tyner and a sister, Debbie Tyner Clark.
Carl was a devoted husband, father, brother and friend. He loved God and helped so many people through his witness and testimony. He was a wonderful doggie dad and fur grandpa.
He served as a firefighter for the Lumberton Fire Department, AMR and Med1 EMS service before retiring and moving to the beach. He had a love for motorcycles, cars and yard sales treasures. He loved taking rides on the golf cart with Chloe, the doggie daughter he rescued.
His favorite verse was Psalms 23:4: "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me."
He loved his church, "The Bridge", and his church family, especially his pastor, Frank Stanley.
Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Jo Ann Tyner of the home; his children, Carla Tyner and husband, Nathan Goulet, of Durham, NC; Benjamin "Brooks" Tyner and wife, Rebecca, and Zachary Tyner all of Bolivia, NC; a sister, Jenny McLaurin and husband, Michael, of Wilmington, NC; his most loving pet, Chloe; three grand doggies, Dante, Bella and JoJo; two grand Kitties, Meow Meow and Mitt Mitts; and multiple nephews and nieces.
A celebration of his life will be held 2:00 O'clock in the afternoon on Saturday October 1, 2022 at The Bridge Church 1180 Mt. Pisgah Rd SW, Supply, NC 28462.
