Born in Philadelphia, PA on the eighth of July, 1935, Jay was the son of the late William H and Hazel Fleming Jarrett. He was a retired Economist with the US DODIG, was an avid sailor and animal lover. Jay was a member of MENSA and could always be counted on for a positive word and “you are doing so well” was one he said often. He was preceded in death by his oldest son, William Jay Jarrett.
Surviving are his loving wife, Frances “Fran” Jarrett; his sons, Randy Jarrett, Fred Lemieux, Tom Lemieux, Craig Lemieux; daughters, Joni Lee Sell (Charles), Sandra Lynn Gallet (Michael); grandchildren, Robert Michael Gallet, Charles Robert Sell, Christopher James Gallet, Ryan Sinclair Sell; seven step-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at eleven o’clock in the morning on Monday the thirty first of July, 2017 in the Southport Presbyterian Church.
