Emma Lee was born in Brunswick County on March 8, 1939 and was the daughter of the late Alfred K. Stanley and Estella Vinowa Long Stanley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie “Billy” Caison, a son, Michael R. Caison Sr., and her brother, Albert K. Stanley. She was a faithful and longtime member of Gospel Center Baptist Church where she served as the pianist for over sixty years and also as choir director, Sunday school teacher, softball coach, GA director, Vacation Bible School President and Christmas Play Director. She worked as a teacher’s aid in Brunswick County public schools, secretary with Varnam’s Insulation Company and with the Varnamtown Parks and Recreation.
She is survived by a son, Kevin Caison of Supply; grandchildren, Michael Caison Jr. and wife Amber of Supply, Grant Allen Caison and wife Lindsey of Black Mountain, NC and Trey Allen Caison of Myrtle Beach, SC; great grandchildren, Candice Evette Caison and Nate Caison.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 15, 2024 at four o’clock in the afternoon at Gospel Center Baptist Church with Reverend Ronald Long and Reverend Buddy Osborne officiating. Burial will follow in the Gospel Center Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be, Nathan Swain, Tim White, Danny Galloway, Eddie Galloway, Michael Caison Jr. and Edgar Wooten.
Honorary pallbearers will be, Rhonda Wooten, Andria White, Wanda McCleod, Sheila Whitaker, Rachel Ward, Janice Singletary and Gina Hines.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
