Elmer “Mack” High was born on November 24, 1943 to Elmer High and Evia Ijames High in High Point North Carolina. Mack passed away on October 17, 2022 in Enid, Oklahoma surrounded with love by his wife and some of his family from Oklahoma.
Mack is survived by his wife of 32 years Nancy “Amanda” High. 3 sons David (Haila) High of Supply, Michael Sean (Wendy) High of Denton and Daniel (Rhonda) High of Pufferton, two granddaughters Haley High of Denton and Nina High of Pufferton. He is also survived by his extended family including father in law James W (Linda) Bean of Dayton, Ohio; mother in law Joyce Bean of Enid, Oklahoma; brother in law James (Linda) Bean of Robbins; sisters in law Ellen (Dewain) Huffmaster of Enid, Oklahoma; Nicole (Chris) Robertson of Helena, Alabama; Mary (Karl) Jobst of Grove, Oklahoma; Lisa (Mark) Kannair of Evansville, Indiana.
Mack married the love of his life Nancy “Amanda” High on July 2, 1990. They lived in Raeford for years where Mack worked for Hoke County Sheriff’s office for years. In 1989 Mack joined the Raeford Police department where he later became Chief of Police of Raeford. Mack retired in 2002 as Chief of police. After retiring Mack and Amanda moved full time to their home in Supply.
Mack was proud to have served in the Navy and serve his country. He also owned a shrimp boat and did this for years with his dad. Mack enjoyed the ocean, boating, fishing, riding his Harley and shooting his guns. He enjoyed going to Turkey shoots with his son David with the Sharon United Methodist Church Men’s Bible class. He loved the ocean and watching the boats go by in the waterway with his wife Amanda. Mack loved his dogs over the years but especially his current baby Sheba.
A celebration of his life will be held Eleven O'clock in the morning October 28, 2022 in White Funeral and Cremation Service Supply/Bolivia Chapel by Dr. James Bean officiating. He will be laid to rest at Sharon Methodist Church cemetery at a later date.
A time of visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
