Mr. Varnam was born November 21, 1943, son of the late Garland and Beatrice Holden Varnam. He was retired from the NC DOT where he had worked for 30 years. Donald was an oysterman and worked the family seafood business. He grew up in Dixon Chapel Church and was currently a member of Lighthouse Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include his children, Molly Renegar and husband Mark, and Jason Varnam and wife Faith; three grandchildren, Leah, Allie, and Summer; two brothers, his twin brother, Ronald Varnam and Nicky Varnam; and a sister, Barbara Brown. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Varnam.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm on Monday, April 17th in the White Funeral Home Bolivia Chapel with Rev. Charles A. Drew officiating.
