Charles Thomas McDowell

Mr. McDowell was born in New Hanover County on August 8, 1941 and was the son of the late Charlie Marshall McDowell and Norma Lee Brown McDowell. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Alice McDowell and a sister, Dirphus "Dot" Jenkins. Mr. McDowell was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman and deer hunter. Mr. McDowell was a retired welder from U.A. Local 421. He loved his family but most of all he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

He is survived by two daughters, Crystal McDowell Cohen and husband Juan of Bolivia and Tana M. Bullard and husband Ricky of Green Sea, SC; three grandchildren, Anna Maria Cohen of Bolivia, Joshua C. Bullard and wife Maranda of Finklea, SC and Jessica B. Stroud and husband Bryan of Nichols, SC and five great grandchildren, Riley H. Bullard, Payton A. Bullard, Madison F. Bullard, Hailey E. Stroud and William C. Stroud.

Funeral services will be held Monday September 30, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Antioch Baptist Church with Reverend Brian Raleigh, Reverend Clayton Rivenbark, Jr. and Reverend Juan Cohen officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be, Riley Ransom, Richard White, Gerald Ballard, Joshua Bullard, Matthew James Wittofsky and P.J. Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be, Anna Maria Cohen and Nichole Ransom.

The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 11:30 am until 1:00 pm.
