Charles Edward Hewett

Mr. Hewett was born in Brunswick County on December 9, 1938 and was the son of the late Herbert and Edna Lewis Hewett. He was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church. He retired from the Town of Holden Beach Utility Department.

He is survived by his wife, Jeannette S. Hewett of the home; two children, Susan Hirst and husband Mike of Smithfield, Va., Randy Hewett and wife Angie of Bolivia; grandchildren, Jonathan Hirst, Anthony Hirst (Sarah), Nicole H. Powell (Mason), Jayden Hewett, Keithian Hewett; great granddaughter, Emma Powell; a brother, Sammy Hewett of Bolivia; a sister, Mavis Palmeter of Wilmington.

Funeral services will be held Thursday April 30, 2015 at 3pm at White Funeral and Cremation Service Chapel, 603 Ocean Highway, Supply with Reverend Jack Edge officiating. Burial will follow in the Robbins Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.

The family would to give a special thanks to Dr. George Sylvestri and the staff of Lower Cape Fear Hospice for the excellent care given to Mr. Hewett during his illness.
