Grandaddy, there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think about you. I miss hearing your voice, laughter, telling me about your days. I often have an urge to call you because I want to know how you are. I hope you’re enjoying heaven, I miss you more than words could ever explain. You were and always will be the most important person in my life. I will miss you and cry for you until I can see you again. I love you so much

Missing you so much every single day grandaddy. This is my biggest heartbreak, losing you. I hope you’re enjoying your family in heaven, just know your family here loves and misses you so much.

The magic of this garden and the many, many friends and family who were given its gifts, all because of the countless hours my Dad spent tending it. So many potatoes , tomatoes, beans and squash, so much, and given always with love. Thank you Daddy for the incredible gifts you gave to all that asked. 

Thanksgiving was the best at my Dad's. He truly loved this holiday and would cook all day and night the day before. From all the fresh vegetables from his garden, to the best tasting ham, Daddy made it his own kind of special. 

Today, it is with regret we say good-bye to Bennie. His life was an inspiration, despite the lemons handed to him. He lived with a deep sense of responsibility and a rare, steadfast love showered upon his family, children, and grandchildren. He was there, day in, day out, never faltering, and never drawing attention to himself: truly an under sung hero. Moving back to the area after 40 years absence, Bennie walked right up to me 3 years ago, waited a moment for recognition that didn’t come, and proceeded to remind me of “the old days” with that mischievous infectious grin. I know it will be hard to say good-bye, but in the end, we who knew him will remember and rejoice in the memories that have enriched all our lives so much. 

Mr. Benny was a hard working man ,he spent many hours in the yard or on the river. Mr. Benny welcomed me into family and home with I was 16. If I had a question or advice about anything I would always call him and he would help me out . He always had a smile on his face. RIP Mr.Benny you will be missed.

I have so many memories with Mr. Ben.  He was one of my DuPont dads.  He helped raise me.  Great man! He will be missed! 

One of our favorite things to do...fishing the Lockwood Folly River ...with a Pepsi and a Honey Bun.....Daddy, I will miss you forever.

Ben was, first a gentleman, an ally, and a cool head in a tough situation. DuPont seems so long ago, but the memories still fresh. A loss for us all.  Harry P

To the family of our classmate Benny, so sorry for your loss, sending thoughts and prayers.  He will be missed by us and so many others.

Ben was my supervisor for many years at Dupont, He was always wiling to work as hard as anyone and he always took the time to teach us to do a job safely.  Ben made a huge difference to many of us and we will always  remember some of the many cliche's
he used to motivate us....My favorite was "Son, I have a golden opportunity for you"....He was an inspiration and a good man who will be missed by many. God's Blessings to him and his family.

I remember getting off work at night and going to the Hewett family fish house. We would catch fish  and shrimp.  Ben. Grant Jobnson and Dean Dosher
