Anthony Stanley Checkowski

Tony was born August 20, 1936 in Jersey City, New Jersey, son of the late Stanley Checkowski and Julia Dombrowski Checkowski. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Jersey City, received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from University of Idaho, and received his MBA in LaSalle University. Tony started his career at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico and worked for several companies including Singer, Narco Avionics, Dexter Corporation, and New Hampshire Ball Bearing where he retired. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, gardening, golfing, and driving his 911S Porsche. Tony was a published author of three books on striped bass fishing. He was an active member of Corpus Christi Church in Lansdale, Pennsylvania where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and participated in the Legion of Mary and Rosary Prayer Group. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Barbara Palughi.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Eileen Rosen Checkowski of Leland, North Carolina; children, David Checkowski of North Wales, Pennsylvania, Barbara Lenci and husband Joe of Leland, North Carolina; 5 grandchildren, Lindsey Nolen, James Checkowski, Justin Nolen, Eric Checkowski, and Michael Checkowski; and brothers, George Checkowski and Stanley "Stash" Checkowski.

Funeral services will be Friday, April 14, 2023 at eleven o'clock in the morning at White Funeral and Cremation Service, 603 Ocean Highway East, Bolivia. A private burial will follow.
