Annie "Granny Annie" Mae Thompson

Annie was born on May 29, 1927 in Richmond County, North Carolina, daughter of the late Delphinia Ledwell Parks and Willie Parks.

She was a member of Dixon Chapel United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, travel and loved to take care of her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

She is survived by her seven children; Carolyn Lockamy and companion Jimmie Walker, Raymond Jackie Thompson, Ernest Thompson, Richmond Larry Thompson, Linda M. Thompson, Calvin W. Thompson, Anna Robinson and husband Phil, eighteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, one brother Lester Parks and wife Norma, many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday May 1, 2011 at Dixon Chapel United Methodist Church, 190 Varnamtown Road, Varnamtown, 28462 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.

Funeral service will be held on Monday May 2, 2011 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Benjamin E. Horton and Rev. Bobby Norton officiating. Graveside service will follow at Dixon Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery on Stanley Road, Varnamtown.
