Dad was an awesome father in law and grandpa to his first grandchild Kristina.   I remember him getting in the pool teaching Kristina how to swim on a nice sunny day.  A day Kristina will never forget.  I remember dancing with him on me and Matt's wedding day thinking this is my father-in-law now, what a great feeling it was.   Thanks for being a great dad and grandpa to Kristina.  Your spirit will live on in all of us and we will keep remembering those fun times with u.  The memories we will cherish forever.

Buddies, friends, and pals....That's how he would cheer me up when I was a kid. If I skinned my knee, he would douse it with mercurochrome and then write words like "ouch" or "hurt" all down my leg. The kindest, most gentle person I have ever known. He taught me to be patient, although that didn't take right away! When he left for college, he conveniently forgot his Sergeant Peppers album, which I listened to every day until he came back. A million wonderful memories  are my comfort right now. He was my protector, my confidant, my brother. I will never be the same....


Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family especially his  Brother Bob. RIP Bill.

Sarah and Family,
Bill and I trusted each other from the start and that was enough for both of us.  That Denise was from Steubenville helped.  He followed hockey and in later years, Nascar.  I followed neither as a fan but enjoyed hearing Bill talk about them.  At our core, Denise and I, Sarah and Bill have the same principles and getting together is stress free.  We always said, "If I had to call someone at two in the morning, we could call them" and you both said the same and none of us ever had to; but Sarah, the deal stands.  Call and we're on our way!
I worked with Bill, for years.  Like that detective, Columbo, Bill could be disarmingly clever, and build a case to make his point.  He could drive a deal but also believed in win-win.  He was knowledgeable and skillful and also humble and kind.
Best of all, we loved watching you raise your family and seeing you in mom/dad mode.  You both seemed to know exactly what to do...common sense is so uncommon and you both were blessed with it.  Courageous too!  The two of you made a formidable parental alliance.    
I recall fondly how excited you both were, planning a surprise family vacation.  You told the family what to pack but didn't tell them where they were going, and then took everyone on a houseboat up the St. Johns River.    Those are the kinds of parents we all wish we had.

Dear Sarah and Family,

Sincere condolences from a classmate of Bill’s from Steubenville.  Always kind, funny, and a good friend to me from 2nd grade to 12th grade.  So glad that his life was filled with happiness and family love, a beautiful life in Florida and loyal lifetime friends.  Always grateful that he traveled for our reunions and so glad to have met Sarah on those visits.  He will be missed.
