Bill Calano, 77, passed away on Sept. 29, 2010. Formerly of Brooklyn, NY. Bill moved to Coral Springs, FL in 1979 where he lived until relocating to Boca Raton, FL in 1994. Bill is survived by his loving wife Dolores, daughters Theresa Hickey, Linda (Pat) Muoio and Stacy Patrick, and sons Billy and Michael, grand-children Steven, Danielle, Christine, Alysia, Nicholas, Katelyn, Lauren and Alexandra and two great grandchildren Troy and Tye. Bill is also survived by his brothers Tommy and Sonny.
Bill was predeceased by an infant son Robert, his parents Frank and Mary, his three sisters, Elizabeth, Edna and Anne.
Bill enlisted in the U.S.Air Force during the Korean conflict and served in France during the European Occupation. After moving to Florida, Bill worked for the Broward County Transit for more than 20 years and retired in 1999. During his retirement years, Bill worked at a golf course and spent his free time searching for treasures at various flea markets and thrift stores.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Joan of Arc, 299 SW 4th ST, Boca Raton on Monday, October 4, 2010 at 11:30 AM. Inurnment is 10:30 AM, Tuesday, Oct. 5 at South Florida VA National Cemetery in Lake Worth.
