He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Robin, his children Scott Wynn, Suzanne LeFevre, Kristin Muir and Robert Clark Muir, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and loving lifelong friends.
Born in Salt Lake City, Utah on March 10, 1928, Robert joined the Armed forces in the later years of World War II before moving to Los Angeles to begin a long and prosperous career in Real Estate. The Robert Muir Company was founded in Los Angeles over 50 years ago and soon spread to the suburbs of Minneapolis where he developed many successful commercial projects.
Robert was an avid golfer, horse racing enthusiast, and loved to travel and explore the world with his family, particularly boating in the Bahamas and on safari in Africa. However, possibly the most cherished accomplishment of his distinguished life was the founding of his school in South Africa, Umhlanga College. Nothing moved him more than watching the school grow and the smiles on the children’s faces.
Robert was loved and cherished by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be missed dearly.
The family will be welcoming all who wish to pay their respects to Robert at Babione- Kraeer Funeral Home, 1100 N. Federal Hwy on Saturday, April 15th from 2:30pm to 4:30pm, with Service of Remembrance at 3 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice by the Sea in his name.
Arrangements under the direction of Babione-Kraeer Funeral Home, Boca Raton, FL.
