Our Lord Jesus called PAUL HENRY EDERLE, 59, home on September 7, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in New York on August 10, 1952, the son of the late George and Genevieve Ederle. After the passing of his father, he moved to Florida with his mother and loving stepfather, John Asmus, where he attended Pompano Beach High School. He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Mona, of 33 years. He will also be deeply missed by his two sons, Garrett (Kathryn) and Jason, his sister Audrey (Dale), his in-laws, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is pre-deceased by his brother, Dr. Kenneth Ederle (Mary).
Paul received a Master’s Degree in Building Construction from the University of Florida where he was a brother of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. As a young man he loved surfing, handball, tennis, rollerblading and hockey. He spent many years as a Fire Island Summer Club lifeguard. Later he enjoyed coaching and playing ice and roller hockey with his two sons, and he became an avid swimmer and hiker. During his career, he managed many construction projects, including the Lynn University gymnasium and library, and several multi-family housing projects. He was known to all as a kind, humble, honest, quietly strong, and extremely organized man.
A memorial service celebrating Paul’s eternal life will be held on Friday, September 16, 2011 at 3:00 PM at Babione Funeral Home, 1100 North Federal Highway, Boca Raton, FL 33432.
