Mike Cirillo passed away on February 15, 2022 at the age of 93, in Boca Raton, Florida, after a courageous struggle with pneumonia. He was surrounded by his family who mourn the loss of their beloved husband, father, and grandfather.
Mike is survived by his loving wife Ida, to whom he was married nearly 70 years; 5 children, Madelyn Vallone, Phyllis Doyle, Diane San Roman, Michael Cirillo, and Karen Bennett; 13 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
He was born in Brooklyn, NY to immigrant parents Francesco and Filomena, and was raised with his older siblings Mary and Henry during the Great Depression. As a young man, he served his country with the US Army in Japan during World War II. He was awarded the Victory Medal to commemorate his service.
He married the love of his life, Ida, to whom he was deeply devoted and shared a life abundant in cherished memories. They raised their family on Long Island where Mike was a proud provider and family man, admired and respected for his kind nature, generosity, and strength of character.
Mike had a successful and lengthy career with the New York City Police Department, serving the city for 30 years. He and Ida later relocated to Florida where they enjoyed a retirement filled with the joys of new friends, travel, and family visits.
Mike treasured his family and was a guiding beacon, providing endless support and protection to all of them. He will be remembered as a true gentleman, a hero and a role model, leaving an extraordinary legacy.
