Mary V. Long passed away after a brief illness on Sunday, May 5, 2024, in Boca Raton, Florida. She was a young 87 years old. She was born on January 6, 1937, in Little Rock, Arkansas to Clement Joeseph Volpert and Catherine Helen (Hambuchen) Volpert.
She received a degree in pharmacy from the University of Arkansas and enjoyed a fulfilling career as a pharmacist in Shreveport, Louisiana and South Florida where she also received a PhD. Traveling the world with her sweetheart, Dominick, brought her much joy. She also had a soft spot for anything Snoopy, opera, dancing, reading and ceramics.
She is survived by her four children, Francis, Ashley, John, and Katie; her sons-in-law Kevin and Mark; her gifted grandchildren and great grandsons; her brothers John Henry and Clement and their spouses; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her sweetheart, Dominick Iacovone; her parents, Clement Volpert and Catherine Volpert; her sister, Rose Ann; her brothers, Paul, and Charlie; her daughter-in-law, Susan; and her husband, Francis Long.
A private service will be held on June 1.
