Mary Ann Elizabeth (Fucigna) Staudenmaier of Boca Raton, FL entered into eternal rest on Tuesday October 4, 2023, after a brief illness. Mary Ann was predeceased by her loving husband of 52 years, Charles “Bill” Staudenmaier. She is survived by her sisters-in-laws, Carol (Baab) Fucigna of Norwalk, CT, Jane (Fagan) Fucigna of Garden City, NY, and Barbara (Staudenmaier) Nolan of Colorado Springs, CO along with numerous nephews, nieces and grand nephews and nieces. Mary Ann was predeceased by both her parents, Joseph and Mary Fucigna, as well as her brothers, Joseph Fucigna, Thomas Fucigna and John Fucigna.
Mary Ann was born on July 31, 1939, in Flushing, NY where she enjoyed a life of laughs and love as the baby girl with her three big brothers and their parents. She attended Immaculate Junior College in Washington D.C. and began her career in the Personnel Department of Pan American Airlines (later acquired by Delta) in Queens, NY in the early 1960s. She spent over 35 years with Pan Am, and then served as Human Resources Manager with List Industries, Inc. in Deerfield Beach, FL from the mid-1990s until her retirement in 2005.
She met her beloved “Billy” in Flushing, NY and they were married on November 9, 1968. They enjoyed many years together in Bayside, Queens, NY before deciding to retire and move to Boca Raton, FL. Mary Ann’s career at Pan Am allowed them to travel the globe, and some of their fondest memories were made while traveling with family and friends.
She and Billy could always be found at all sorts of lunches, benefits, concerts, and dinners, or at local Airedale Rescue Florida events, where they would adopt several loving dogs that became beloved family members. She and Billy were also very involved in their local church, St. Jude’s R.C. Boca Raton until Bill’s death and her ensuing illness made it too difficult to continue attending.
Her affection for life, love, and laughter with Bill, their friends, and all their nieces and nephews made “Aunt Mary Ann” a favorite to many, if not all.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the Airedale Rescue Fund of Florida found at airedalerescueflorida.org
