Maria passed on to her home with our Heavenly Father on July 19, 2011. Her passing was due to natural causes and she will be greatly missed but we rejoice that she has now taken her place in eternity with her love of a lifetime, her husband Louis Patrick Tarantino. She is survived by her sister Giuseppina Giacomozzi and her three children Rich Tarantino; Diana Bordoli; & Dave Tarantino and their spouses Sue (Rich) Tarantino; Dario (Diana) Bordoli; & Sharon (David) Tarantino. She is also survived by her Grandchildren Candice Boudreaux; Megan Tarantino; Stefano Bordoli; Alessandro Bordoli; Christian Bordoli; Adriano Bordoli; Giordano Bordoli; Matteo Bordoli; Nicholas Tarantino; and Lydia Tarantino; and her beloved companion dog, Toto.
Maria was born on February 24 1933 to the proud parents of Giovanni and Desolina (Bertoni) Giacomozzi in Italy. She met her “Louie” in 1953, a dashing USA Air Force man, and it was love at first sight. They married in Florence and spent their romantic honeymoon in beautiful and breathtaking Venice. One year later in 1954 in Naples their first born arrived, Rich. In typical military fashion they were on the move and in 1957 in Washington D.C. came Diana and back in Naples in 1960 came along Dave.
They eventually came to Connecticut were their children spent much of their school years and finally settled and retired in Florida, where Maria has the home she so loved surrounded by her beautiful gardens and decorations, especially the photos of all her loved ones.
The legacy that Maria leaves us all is her Love. But more than just “love” but the Love of a Mother, just as our Blessed Virgin Mary Loved the Son of God, who is her namesake. Her love of her family…so strong, dedicated, and sacrificial. Her Grandchildren are her great Love & Joy and who she cherishes with all her heart. And a love for all those who she touched in her walk through life while she was with us.
So as we grieve for our great loss let us all rejoice in celebration to Maria being taken home to a special place and to be rejoined with her eternal love, Lou. Her services will be on Monday, July 25, 2011 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church at 22094 Lyons Road, Boca Raton, followed by entombment at Boca Raton Mausoleum.
