In Chicago Ken worked at Illinois Tool Works (IWS), married the love of his life, Karen Ann Heideman and started his family. He moved to Pompano Beach to start Mack Peters and Son, Inc., a plastering contracting business with his father. He was proud of building many condos on the beach, inter-coastal, and elsewhere. As a member of the Trowel Guild, he also became President. In the 70's, he started a warehouse storage company, 1st Ave Storage. His two businesses afforded his family to be members of the Boca Raton Hotel and Club, where he enjoyed many rounds of golf, had a hole in one and traveled to Morocco for a golf tournament. Ken later joined Boca Del Mar Country Club. His real passion was traveling. He took frequent trips with his wife Karen, there they especially enjoyed golf trips to North Carolina and many cruises. Ken was predeceased by his wife of 55 years. He is survived by son Jeff (Wendy) Peters and daughter Pam (Robert) Bakeris, both of Boynton Beach, FL. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, January 21st, at 12:30am at St. Jude Catholic Church in Boca Raton. Friends and family will gather to remember, honor and celebrate Ken's life following the mass from 1:45 to 4:00 at Via Mizner Country Club.
