

Mella Martino, lived a fabulous life until the ripe old age of 99 years, living in Boca Raton, FL, and then Pawleys Island, SC, where she passed peacefully on Friday evening, April 28, 2023, at the Lakes at Litchfield Assisted Living in Pawleys Island, SC, with her son Joseph, at her side.
She was born on September 6, 1923, in Manhattan, NY. She was a former resident of Brooklyn, and Woodmere, NY, wintering and later permanently moving to Margate, FL, then finally settling in the golfing community of Boca Greens Country Club, Boca Raton, FL. She had resided in Pawleys Island, SC for the last year and a half.
Mella had been the long time bookkeeper and secretary in the family business, working beside the love of her life, Frank, at the Mapleton Printing & Offset Co. in Brooklyn, NY.
She was beloved wife of the late Frank R. Martino, who died on April 27, 2010, and she was also predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Anna Saviano and her brother, Michael Saviano, and her brother-in-law, Ben Porto.
She leaves behind her two beloved sons, Leon Martino and his wife Nancy, of Guilderland, NY and Bradenton, FL, Joseph Martino and his wife Catherine, of Pawleys Island, SC, and Venice Beach, FL, and her beloved daughter, Theresa Settanni and her husband Gerald of North Brunswick, NJ, and Jensen Beach, FL, her six dear grandchildren, Mary Ellen Jackson (and her husband Tyler), Joseph Martino Jr. (and his wife Marianne), Christine Martino, Nicholas Martino (and his wife Maria), Gerald, Jr. and Melanie Settanni.
Mella loved being a great-grandmother to Nora, Natalie and Nicole Jackson, Michael Oross, (and his wife Melissa), Jillian Oross, Joseph, III, Timothy and Charlie Martino, and great-great grandmother to Peyton, Grace, and Olivia, Also surviving are her beloved sister, Rose Porto of South Carolina, her sister-in-law, Ann Saviano of Florida, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday morning, May 4, 2023, from 10 am to 11 am at the Babione Funeral Home, 10060 Calle Comercio Drive, Boca Raton, FL , followed by an 11 am funeral service at the funeral home.
Entombment will follow in the Boca Raton Cemetery Mausoleum, Boca Raton, FL.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her memory to the American Heart Association or to a charity of your choice.
