Anthony Victor Patti was born in The Bronx, New York, the second child and only son of Pietro and Giuseppina Patti, both Italian immigrants. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, 82nd Airborne Division, where he served as a medic and paratrooper. He graduated from New York University and Columbia University Teachers College, where he obtained his doctorate in education. Anthony served as a long time professor of the City University of New York, the tri-state championship track coach at Queens College, and chairman of the Department of Secondary and Business Education at Lehman College. He is survived by his partner Josephine Gemake, his three children Andrea, Wendy (Michael), and Anthony (Helen) as well as by 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild. He will be remembered for his incredible accomplishments in education, his athleticism, and most importantly as a loving and generous father and grandfather.
