I am so touched by your reading, your Mom truly was all that you described and I remember her just that way, always sweet, kind and so soft spoken. She was an inspiration to all who knew her.

For those of you who were not able to attend the funeral this was the reading the Minister read from me.



Of those who knew my mother I'm sure they will agree with the things I have to say here. If you don't know my mother this is what she was like.

My mother grew up as an only child. Some would think only children grow up to be selfish because they haven't learned how to share. My mother was the complete opposite.  She was the most caring, sharing, thoughtful human being you would ever meet. She always thought of others before herself.  She was compassionate and trusting toward others. She never raised her voice to anyone and when she came across an unkind individual who truly was awful she would simply say "Well they just aren't very nice are they? My mother NEVER used swear words, her choice of words were Oh my word, or oh my goodness. When I would ask her what she thought of people that were cruel or mean spirited she would simply say life is harder on them. She found it a waste of time to engage in anger or unhappiness. I remember a time when I was distressed about something and she told me “life on earth is only a temporary place where we work very hard to get to the better place which is heaven".  Now I know she is in that better place. 

My mother had every good quality imaginable. So many wonderful qualities defined her. She was a true lady in every way.  The most polite individual with all the refined manners you wished most people had.  She thanked everyone right up to the end for everything they did for her at a time when most couldn't even think about speaking. She was a fighter and fought to the very end with every breath she took. If you asked her how she was she would always say "I'm just fine" even when she was uncomfortable and in the most pain. My mother NEVER, EVER complained.  She was a strong person. NEVER a quitter, she said she NEVER thought much of a quitter.

My mother was always impeccably dressed, a very neat well kept beautiful person who took pride in her appearance.  You would NEVER see her without lipstick.  Oh how she loved her lipstick! And every hair was always in place. She had the most beautiful big blue eyes that she always gave you a wink with. Mom loved clothes; she loved to shop and was always complimenting those she came in contact with.  Even when she was in hospice she always liked what I wore and made it a point to let me know. I said to her "mom you always liked to shop" and she said I still like to shop!  (I guess I know where I got that from!)

Mom loved the holidays and always made sure her Christmas card was the first in your mail box. She loved parties, get togethers with family, dancing, music and she was very good at art.  She was always ready to go!  I would call her and say mom do you want to go out to dinner and she would say yes every time no matter how late it was or how tired she was.  Sometimes she would already be ready for bed but would insist on getting dressed and going out.  She never turned down dessert or an invitation to anything. She loved to have fun! (I guess that is where I get that from too!)
  
My mom was such a happy, loving, truly caring individual.  She made everyone around her feel special.  When we were out shopping or dining she would always make it a point to ask everyone what their name was, and would remember them the next time.  If I visited the same place without her people would come up to me and ask me how she was and tell me how sweet and nice she was. She truly loved everyone she met and made friends easily and everywhere with her warm smile.

My mom saw the best in everything and everybody.  She was like a little girl in a grown up person.  She was cute, sweet, and totally the angel she now has become.

Mommy I will miss you so very much every single day of my life. My comfort will come from the love you have given me all my life and the love I will feel every single time I think of you.
