Wanda Ruth Taylor, 96, of Bloomington, Indiana, passed away peacefully at 6:35 a.m. on 11/21/22 at her home in Bloomington. Wanda was raised in Greene County, Indiana. Together with her family, Groves Restaurant was born. It was a hometown staple that earned accolades from Bon Appétit, Gourmet Magazine, and The New Yorker. She loved to dance, play cards with her friends, and made the best persimmon pudding. She was a quick-witted woman with a dry sense of humor and a love for her family. She was also a member of Sherwood Oaks Christian Church.
Her death was preceded by her mother, Gretchen (Snyder) Groves Graham; her step-father that helped raise her, Roy Groves; her husband, Bill Taylor; her son, Danny Taylor; and her daughter-in-law, Kathy Taylor. She is survived by her brother, Tom Sullivan; her son, Craig Taylor; her grandchildren, Amanda (Nick) Hilton and Jenny (Caner) Derici; and two great grandchildren, Gage and Harlow Hilton.
Her viewing will be held at Day and Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home; 4150 E. Third St. on Friday, November 25 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with a service of remembrance to follow on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be on Monday at noon at Rose Hill Cemetery.
