Shirley Ann Allender Gott, 86, of Bloomington, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2024 in I.U. Health Methodist Hospital. She was born February 13, 1938 in Nashville, Indiana to Elisha Daniel and Dollie Mildred Allender.
Survivors include three sons, Frank Alan (Esther) Gott, of Nashville, Indiana, Jeffrey Wayne (Angela) Gott, of Bloomington and Thomas Mark (Diane) Gott, of Bloomington; one former daughter-in-law, Jeanne Morron, of Bloomington; , thirteen grandchildren, Stacie, Tracie, Josh, Nate, Jeffrey, Lacey, Tanner, Tommy, Tyler, Stephanie, Kayla, Julia and Jacob; eighteen great-grandchildren, Caitlin, Courtney, Morgan, Gracie, Lynlee, Coleson, Gage, Scarlet, Rowan, Nathan, Eliza, Ean, Jordan, Coby, Kyli, Wyatt, Vinnie, Mia, Emmie and Mav; four great great grandchildren, Nova, Mason, Riley and Jarrett; five brothers, Robert and Helen Allender, Floyd and Juanita Allender, Wallace and Helen Allender, Phillip and Teddy Allender and John and Wanda Allender; four sisters, Juanita and Dwight Merriman, Betty and Bob Bain, Alma and Delbert Speer and Patty and Bill Sanders; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 60 years, Frank M. Gott; her second husband, Francis E.. Knight; a daughter, Pamela Elaine Gott; and a son, Jerry Duane Gott
Shirley was a long time member of Bethel Lane Community Church. She was retired from the cafeteria at Bloomington High School North. She and Frank were pastors for over 20 years at Belmont Chapel and Bethel Lane Community Church. They were also Camp Chairmen for Shady Springs Campground in Bedford. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her church family.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Monday March 25, 2024 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Jeffrey Gott officiating in Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home, 4150 East Third St. Burial will follow in Duncan Cemetery in Brown County. Visitation will be on Monday prior to services from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
