Shirley Jean Foster

Shirley was a supportive mother and grandmother to many, both biological and chosen. Her favorite places to be were with her family, at the lake, and at the bingo hall. The unique sense of humor that she passed along has the power to alleviate emotional pain and restore optimism. Her legacy of laughter, humility, love, strength, and wisdom will continue to be a profound influence on every life that she has touched.

Shirley is survived by her daughter, Tina McWay; her son, Charles Thomas, Sr.; siblings, Eddie Thomas, Sr., Mary Clark, Cleveland Thomas Sr., Delores Thomas, Beatrice Brantley, Theodore Thomas Sr., Charlene Thomas, and Bennie Brantley, Sr.; grandchildren, Oshiana McWay, Charles Thomas, Jr., Dorion Thomas, Stormi Wallace, Damani Thomas-Newbolt, Rashawn Thomas-Newbolt; great-grandchildren, Kamina Claybrook-Wallace, Syahni Claybrook-Wallace.

Shirely is preceded in death by her husband, Houston Foster, her parents, Minnie & A.C. Thomas, and a host of other family.

A a celebration of life service for Shirley will be held Friday, August 25, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home, 4150 East Third Street, Bloomington, Indiana 47401.
